“ Hi, I'm Emma. I'm originally from Romford, and my Partner and I moved out to Southend from last November to buy our first flat together, after renting in a few places in London for around 7 years. I still work in London, at a University in the West, so I spend a lot of time commuting on the good ole C2C!To get out and about and meeting new people I do the odd bit of volunteer work of a weekend, most recently I've been helping out with redecorating a local homeless shelter, and a few odd bits for the Cats Protection agency. (I've got three cats of my own, somewhat accidentally, and I have a passion for animals.)I've also recently taken up jogging, which I usually do a few times a week, mostly around Hyde park at lunch and along the southend seafront of an evening/weekend. In a few weeks I'll be running a 10k Race for Life for Cancer Research.As you might expect, as a new homeowner, I'm spending a lot of my time renovating the flat, so DIY is a bit of a life obsession.I'm still getting to know the area, and am keen to get to know to somebody local other than my neighbours! I'm missing having people around who I can have a few drinks in town etc. with from time to time, to spend some time outside of the flat doing something without my partner for a change!
