How do I get started?
Create your profile, add at least one photo, and verify your email address. Once your photo is approved, you'll be able to browse and interact more freely.
What is Drinking Partners?
Drinking Partners is a community to meet new people for socialising, events, and everyday activities. Most members simply want to expand their social circle-no pressure to date.

I can't log in - what should I do?
Try these steps:
- Double-check your email address and password (watch for auto-capitalisation).
- Use "Forgot password" to reset your password.
- If you're not receiving the reset email, check your spam/junk folder and search for "Drinking Partners".
- If your email was entered incorrectly during sign-up, use the contact form below and tell us the correct address.
If it still won't work, include your device/browser (e.g. iPhone Safari) and any error message in your support request.

Why do I need to verify my email?
Email verification helps protect accounts, reduces spam, and improves reliable delivery of important notifications (like messages and replies).
Why can't I message yet?
Some features are limited until key steps are complete (such as email verification and photo approval). Messaging and contact features may also depend on membership level.
I entered details but nothing saved - did I lose my progress?
Usually no. Try refreshing the page and logging in again. If you're still stuck, contact us below and tell us what you were doing (and what device/browser you're using).
Do you organise events?
We don't run official events, but you can connect with others and arrange your own coffee meetups, cinema trips, or group outings.
Profiles & photos
All photos are checked before being shown to other members. This helps keep Drinking Partners safe, genuine, and free from fake or inappropriate content.
How long does photo approval take?
Most photos are approved quickly, but timing can vary depending on volume. If it's taking longer than expected, please contact us below.
Why isn't my profile visible yet?
Some profiles may remain limited or hidden until required steps are complete (for example photo approval). This helps ensure quality and safety across the community.
Can I change my username or profile details?
Yes - most profile details can be updated from your account settings. If you can't find a specific field, contact us and we'll help.
Trouble entering your location?
To help you find nearby friends, we ask you to enter your town, city, or postcode.
- Start typing your town, city, or postcode and select one of the suggestions
- Make sure you choose an option from the list (not just typed text)
If your location doesn't appear, try a nearby larger town/city, or just the postcode (UK users).
Still not working? You can continue signing up - we can help complete or correct your location later if needed.
Tip: Location suggestions rely on your browser and internet connection. Temporary issues can happen, especially on mobile.
Messaging & contact
What is a "Hello"?
A Hello is a light, friendly way to show interest. It's a simple ice-breaker before starting a full conversation.
Do you send alerts?
We send alerts for new messages, hellos, friend requests, profile views, and matches. You can manage these in Account settings.
What happens when I send a message?
The recipient receives a notification and can choose to reply. Replies depend on mutual interest, and some contact features may require membership.
What is a coffee invite?
Coffee invites are a simple way to suggest meeting in person - no pressure, no expectations, just a friendly coffee. Only send one when it feels right.
Didn't receive the verification email?
After signing up, we send a verification email to confirm your address.
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Search your inbox for "Drinking Partners"
- Allow a few minutes - delivery can sometimes be delayed
Resend: Log in and select "Resend verification email".
Note: Please make sure your email address is correct before resending.
Search & matching
How does search work?
Search helps you find members based on location and preferences. You can adjust filters to broaden or narrow results.
What does "contactable only" mean?
This filter shows members who are currently able to receive contact. It helps reduce dead-ends and improves your chances of getting a reply.
Why can't I see everyone?
Some profiles may be hidden due to approval status, privacy settings, or membership rules. This is normal and helps keep the platform safe and high-quality.
Membership & billing
What do paid members get?
Membership unlocks key contact features like full messaging and coffee invites, so you can connect properly and make real-world plans.
Is it a subscription?
It's a one-off payment (no recurring fees). If you need help with billing, contact us below.
I've paid but something still looks locked - what should I do?
Log out and back in first. If it's still not updated, send us a message below and include the email address on your account.
Safety & privacy
How do I block or report someone?
You can block or report a member from their profile or from within messages. If something feels off, report it - we'd rather check than miss it.
Any tips for meeting safely?
- Meet in a public place the first time
- Tell a friend where you're going
- Trust your instincts - leave if anything feels wrong
- Don't share personal details too early
Why do you moderate photos and profiles?
Moderation helps prevent fake accounts, keeps content respectful, and protects the community - especially for members who are new or meeting people for the first time.

Having problems on mobile?
Drinking Partners works on most modern mobile devices, but small issues can occur.
- Update your browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome/Firefox on Android)
- Refresh the page
- If a field doesn't respond, scroll slightly and try again
If you're stuck during sign-up, you can safely reload the page. You can also complete registration on a desktop or tablet.
